The Somatic Voice Retreat

A Weekend Immersion for Psychedelic Therapists & Mental Health Practitioners

Feel the Voice, Open the Portal

Join us for a three-day journey into the power of voice as a gateway to self-awareness, emotional healing, and intuitive insight.

Designed for psychedelic therapists and mental health professionals, this retreat blends ancient wisdom with modern science through ketamine-assisted vocal activation, somatic embodiment practices, and reflective writing.

Guided by Dr. Carrie Griffin and Serena Malkani, MA, each session explores how the voice responds to life’s transitions—expanding, contracting, and revealing deeper truths. Together, we’ll uncover how the voice becomes a catalytic tool for self-connection and emotional resilience.

As a practitioner, the ability to hold space is anchored in personal alignment—emotional resonance, clarity, and presence. Join us on June 6-8 in Nevada city, where the voice becomes a powerful catalyst for healing in daily life and professional practice.

What to Expect

Ketamine-Assisted Vocal Activations and Voice Embodiment

Experience guided ketamine sessions that heighten your capacity to release and deeply listen to your own voice as a channel for insight and healing. Following each session, engage in reflective writing to capture emotional breakthroughs, translate somatic experiences into meaningful narratives, and connect with the deeper wisdom within your vocal expression.

Kinetic Flow and Reflective Writing

Discover how hand movement extends vocal expression. After each activation, engage in writing practices that transform vocal resonance into tangible insights, fostering deeper emotional integration through continuous flow.

Polyvagal Theory & Voice-Centered Exploration

Dive into how the nervous system shapes vocal expression and emotional tone through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. Explore how nervous system states influence the larynx, pharynx, and jaw, impacting creativity, vitality, and voice. Through somatic voice practices—including voice-led body scans, sound-to-movement improvisations, and guided vocal meditations—access your full vocal range and deepen the connection between breath, body, and sound for authentic expression.

Clinical Mind Share & Practice Building

Join a collaborative discussion on therapeutic presence, case insights, and practice growth. Explore fresh approaches to clinical challenges and learn practical strategies for building a sustainable, values-driven practice.

A board-certified physician in family and addiction medicine with fellowship training in maternal and reproductive health, she has spent over a decade providing compassionate care across prenatal, women’s health, newborn care, and addiction medicine. Her clinical work has spanned and continues to include a variety of settings, including federally qualified health centers, tribal clinics, and residential treatment programs.

Dr. Griffin’s journey into medicine began with her own healing exploration, which ignited a lifelong study of transformative practices. She has trained in yoga therapy, Ayurveda, Tibetan Buddhism, non-dual Tantra, Somatic Experiencing, and breathwork, blending these modalities with modern medicine to address the root causes of suffering. Her interest in trauma and recovery led her to pursue advanced training in psychedelic therapies, including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and MDMA therapy through MAPS.

As a trauma specialist, Dr. Griffin integrates somatic approaches like NARM and Internal Family Systems to help clients reconnect with their innate capacity for healing. Her work centers on guiding individuals through profound life transitions—whether related to chronic illness, trauma, addiction, or birth—with a focus on personalized care that honors the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit.
